Shipping Information

UK & International Shipping

(Applicable only when purchasing directly from the UK office, not from LLC where shipping works differently)

When shipping pyrotechnics either Nationally or Internationally from Le Maitre Ltd, there are two options available:

Option 1: Let Us Arrange Shipping

Le Maitre Ltd can arrange delivery of your order through our approved shipping partners, including specialist dangerous goods carriers where required.

When we arrange your shipment, we will:

  • Obtain shipping quotations on your behalf
  • Arrange transportation through approved carriers
  • Prepare all required shipping documentation
  • Provide the Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Dangerous Goods Note (DGN), where applicable
  • Ensure the shipment complies with all relevant transport regulations
  • Manage dangerous goods declarations and associated compliance requirements

Requesting a Shipping Quote

As shipping costs vary depending on the products being shipped, destination country, and transport requirements, all shipments are quoted individually.

To obtain a shipping quotation, please provide:

  • A complete list of products required
  • Quantities of each product
  • A quotation, proforma invoice, or confirmed order
  • Full delivery address, including postcode/ZIP code and country
  • Preferred delivery date (if applicable)
  • Contact details for the recipient

Once this information has been received, Le Maitre Ltd can obtain quotations from our approved shipping partners and provide the most suitable delivery options available.

Please note that shipping quotations cannot be obtained without a confirmed product list and delivery destination, as dangerous goods transport costs vary significantly depending on the products and country of destination.

Certain products may also be subject to export controls, carrier restrictions, import permits, customs clearance requirements, or additional dangerous goods surcharges depending on the destination country.

Option 2: Arrange Your Own Collection

Customers may choose to arrange collection using their own freight forwarder or shipping agent.

Whilst we are happy to support customer-arranged collections, dangerous goods shipments require specific legal documentation before they can be transported. Where Le Maitre Ltd is required to prepare and certify this documentation, a documentation and compliance fee will apply.

Collection Documentation & Compliance Fee

£250.00 per shipment

This fee covers:

  • Preparation of the Dangerous Goods Note (DGN)
  • Preparation of the Commercial Invoice (where applicable)
  • Preparation of the Packing List
  • Dangerous goods classification and compliance checks
  • Certification of the shipment for transport
  • Use of Le Maitre Ltd's insurance and regulatory approvals associated with the certification process

This charge will be added to the order and included on the commercial invoice.

Why Is There A Charge?

The Dangerous Goods Note (DGN) is a legal transport document required for the shipment of hazardous materials.

By issuing and signing the DGN, Le Maitre Ltd certifies that the goods have been correctly classified, packed, labelled, and prepared in accordance with applicable dangerous goods transport regulations.

As Le Maitre Ltd assumes responsibility for this certification and the associated liability, a documentation and compliance charge applies when customers choose to arrange their own collection.
