Le Maitre will be hosting a one-day Pyrotechnics Safety Awareness Course on Tuesday 17th January 2017. Held at the Backstage Centre in Purfleet, Essex, this course is a practical training course in stage pyrotechnics, taught by Lincoln Parkhouse, a well-known and leading industry practitioner. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Training at the end of the course and will qualify for one year's membership of the Association of Stage Pyrotechnicians.
A typical course provides an overview of different pyrotechnic devices, their uses and the relevant health & safety information. During the course there are a number of live demonstrations as well as lessons in series wiring, risk assessment and flame proofing. As part of the afternoon session participants get hands-on and get to set up and ignite their own pyrotechnic devices.
